What is The Black Box and How it Works?
Black Box is a device that has a number of parts, with flight data recording and cockpit voice recording preserved. Name of the flight data recorder briefly is the FDR, and the cockpit voice recorder’s name is CVR. In the Flight Data Recorder section, technical information of the aircraft was stored. These include the speed of the plane, the speed of the wind, how high the plane flies, the fuel flow, the movement of the wheels, etc.
In such cases, up to 700 such parameters can be stored in this box of the larger aircraft. On the other hand, in the cockpit voice recorder part, all audio/speech records of the aircraft carrier’s room are recorded. It allows listeners and other crew to listen and talk, which can be understood from the last moment’s problems. This Box is located on the back of the aircraft.

But this box of the aircraft is actually orange, This system is because the orange color is relatively visible. On the other hand, this box does not actually look like a box. A cylinder is most visible in the black box structure, Which is connected to a platform. The box-sized framework has a battery inside the cylinder. And the memory unit is on the cylinder. Airplane and aviation experts call it an electronic flight data recorder rather than a black box.
This Flight Data Recorder usually stores the last 17 to 25 hours of flight data (technical/mechanical data of the aircraft). The cockpit voice recorder puts the last 2 hours record of the pilot and everyone in his room. this recording time maybe 30 minutes in magnetic storage.

This Box is very firmly made. Its structure is made of lithium or stainless steel. If a box is thrown at a speed of 750 kilometers/ hour on a concrete wall, it will also survive. It can remain at least 5 minutes intact with a weight of 2.25 tons. This box will survive without any type of damage to an hour at a maximum of 1100 degree Celsius temperature. A B box may be intact at 6,000 meters deep underwater pressure.
Another important feature is its water-sensor. When a special sensor of the B box comes in contact with water (in the sea/river), it sends a signal every second, from which the rescue team can pick up the device after understanding its position. Generally, a B box that can send the maximum signal up to 30 days. And this signal may come from the bottom of the water to a maximum of 4 kilometers.
After finding a B box of a crashed plane, the information was resumed. Special software and devices are required to analyze data from storage and analyze them. All in all, it can take weeks. It may take even a few months.
Future B box:-
To improve the B box and its usability, work has been done to keep video recordings in the future as well as audio. There is also a possibility of placing multiple B boxes in one place on the same plane.
